Large Estate in Laguna Beach and Rancho Santa Fe hiring a full-time experienced Jack / Jill of All Trades to manage the grounds, improve and maintain the highest standards. Must sign confidentiality agreement and follow estate guidelines. Work at the oceanfront Estate in Laguna Beach on 2 acres (2 days/week) and Rancho Santa Fe Estate on 5 acres (2-3 days/week)

The Groundskeeper / Manager is responsible for the cleanliness, physical appearance & curb appeal of the properties. Focused on keeping the Estates looking the best, this person is a visible team member to visitors & residents alike, maintaining a friendly, helpful & professional approach in all interactions. The candidate will report to the Chief of Staff and Principle herself.

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetically-pleasing and functional outdoor landscaping, including keeping the interior maintenance of the house in premier condition.


  • Managing the weekly vendors (grass, landscaping, tree trimming, etc.)

  • Examining all details of the properties to ensure upkeep

  • Watering plants, indoor and outdoor as needed

  • Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tying down unsecured items, etc.

  • Maintaining gardens and lawns, including planting, fertilizing, weeding, soil conditioning, mulching and applying pesticides

  • Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment, as needed

  • Scheduling specialty services and managing, as needed

  • Ordering supplies and equipment for the property, as needed

  • Preparing for private events, making sure the inside and outside are properly functioning and ready for use.

  • Clean pool Areas for arrival, hose down, tidy up, straighten chairs, etc.

  • Replace light bulbs in common area & outside as needed.

  • Duties will be assigned according to their urgency.

  • Must be able to lift 80-100lbs. on a regular basis.

  • A background in construction is a plus.

  • Small household improvements.

  • Handyman skills.

  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring continuous walking, standing, lifting, bending, climbing stairs, etc.

  • Ability to complete work quickly & thoroughly, with a great eye for detail.

  • Quality focused; does a quality job the first time around.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, schedule, & follow instructions.

  • Ability to work independently within a team environment.

  • Professional, courteous & helpful attitude with members, future members & vendors.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.
