SUMMARY
A private property is seeking a dependable, hands-on Property Caretaker to assist with the day-to-day exterior upkeep, landscaping, and general security of the grounds. This is a position suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, is comfortable performing practical maintenance tasks, and takes pride in keeping a property well maintained and secure.
The primary daytime focus will be landscaping and exterior property care. The Caretaker will work alongside and help an existing landscaping team whose members are primarily Spanish-speaking. Fluency in both English and Spanish is therefore required to communicate effectively with the crew as well as the property owners and other English-speaking contacts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work alongside and provide day-to-day support to the existing landscaping crew.
Perform routine landscaping, groundskeeping, and exterior property maintenance.
Inspect the grounds regularly and identify maintenance issues requiring attention.
Handle basic exterior repairs and practical maintenance tasks within the scope of the position.
Conduct brief rounds after regular working hours and ensure the property is properly secured and locked for the evening.
Maintain awareness of the property outside regular hours and respond to occasional urgent situations, such as water leaks or other property-related emergencies.
Communicate maintenance concerns and property needs clearly to the appropriate parties.
Help ensure the grounds, exterior areas, equipment, and workspaces remain orderly and well maintained.
REQUIREMENTS
Fluent in both English and Spanish.
Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, property maintenance, caretaking, or a similar hands-on role.
Comfortable working outdoors and performing physically active work throughout the day.
Practical knowledge of basic property and exterior maintenance.
Ability to coordinate effectively with an established landscaping team.
Dependable, observant, self-directed, and comfortable taking responsibility for the property.
Willing and able to reside on-site and provide reasonable availability for occasional property emergencies.
